Social Media Makeover Part 2: Folks to Follow

To follow up with my last rant post about being solicited to on Facebook, I have put together a list of fabulous people and foundations you can follow on social media to encourage, challenge and even inspire you. When we were engaged and newly married, my husband and I completed the Financial Peace Program by Dave Ramsey. It wasn't that fun and required discipline in not doing anything extravagant, like, ordering a pop at a restaurant for awhile. However that's a story for another post.

One analogy Dave Ramsey gives that has stuck with me, is that of the "wheels of your life". He says; "Picture the wheel of a bicycle and the spokes within each wheel. The spokes are balanced—each an equal distance apart and each with the same strength of metal. But, if one or more of those spokes becomes weak or damaged, you’ll eventually end up with a flat tire.Now picture the major areas of your life as the spokes of a wheel—the Wheel of Life. You need each of them to be strong and balanced."

 The spokes of your life are your;
"If  you don’t strengthen your weak areas, you’ll end up with one side of the wheel flat. Imagine trying to ride a bike with a flat tire—it’s dangerous and inefficient. The same applies to your life. When your life gets unbalanced, it’s unhealthy. And you’ll reap the consequences."

Today I want to share a social media resource you can follow on instagram, Facebook, or via blog for each of the "spokes" listed above. Some have been my personal favorites for years, and I also asked people who I find encouraging on social media, to share some of their favorite resources and the following list came together (minus the areas of career and social relationships, those you will have to tailor to meet your own circumstances).  Without further adieu, I give you the following pages that won't try to sell you a miracle shake and won't leave you depressed (which research says is what happens to us) after scrolling for a bit.
